BBT 10: Automobile Body Styles and Designs Part One of Two

1.Trucks or pickup trucks are the workhorses of the auto industry. Found with an open, flat bed for hauling a variety of cargo, pickup trucks can be fitted with three cabin options. If looking at a truck, choosing the right kind for a specific lifestyle can prove very difficult. It’s wise for a buyer to seriously realize their needs and not purchase a truck that may be too limited or excessive in capacity. In regards to passenger volume, regular cab trucks provide single row seating while an extended cab adds rear seat room for addition passengers. In order to grant improved rear seat accessibility, crew cab trucks present four-door cabins for ultimate convenience.

2.The Chevrolet Corvette comes in either coupe or convertible with two trim levels to choose from and several sub-trims. The base model is outfitted with 18” front wheels and 19” rear wheels, signature Brembo braking system, xenon headlamps, heated and powered side mirrors, remote entry/start, two-zone climate control, leather seating, powered front seats, powered tilt and telescope steering wheel, OnStar with rolling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/iPod/USB integration, the MyLink infotainment interface, parking camera and a premium nine-speaker Bose audio system.


3.Sold in LS and LT trim levels, the 2011 Chevrolet HHR is a versatile yet fuel efficient utility wagon. Powered by a variety of Ecotec four-cylinder engines, a 155 horsepower 2.2 liter standard on the 2011 HHR LS can be upgraded to an available 2.4 liter unit producing 172 horsepower. There is a choice of two transmissions, fuel economy is an average 27 miles per gallon with a 5-speed manual or a 26 miles per gallon with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Cruise control, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry as well as dual auxiliary electrical outlets are standard convenience items on the 2011 Chevrolet HHR LS trim. The LT model adds 16-inch wheels and carpeted floor mats. The 2011 Chevrolet HHR can also be ordered in a panel van version featuring a flat, rear area providing 57 cubic feet of cargo space. An optional under-floor storage 



4.The full-sized Chevrolet Suburban comes in three trim levels with seating for up to nine passengers. The base model is nicely stacked and includes: 18” premium alloy wheels, privacy glass in the rear, roof rails, remote entry/start, parking sensors (rear), parking camera, powered and heated side mirrors, automated windshield wipers, triple-zone climate control, powered front seating, OnStar, Bluetooth/iPod/USB connectivity and a six-speaker audio system with HD radio. Options and upper trim levels can add a collision mitigation system, powered tilt and telescope steering wheel, premium leather seating, 8” touchscreen with GPS, powered folding second and third-row seating, up to 22” wheels, xenon headlamps, premium Bose audio system, towing package and more.



5.The 2009 Pontiac Solstice is a two-door roadster that now offers a new hardtop coupe, with a removable roof panel, which is available in the same base and GXP trim levels as the soft top. New to the lineup is the soft-top Solstice Street Edition, with upgraded standard features and a sport suspension. The base Pontiac Solstice standard safety features include previously optional items, such as stability and traction control, four-wheel antilock disc brakes and a limited-slip rear differential. Also new is Bluetooth connectivity as well as updated wheel design. The base trim is powered by a 2.4L four-cylinder engine with 177 hp and 166 lb-ft of torque, while the GXP boasts a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that blasts 260 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.
